Disposeable V Cloth Nappies

My One Life cloth nappies are very easy to use, people always say "oh but there's all that washing" but to be honest I never have a full load of baby clothes, so my nappies fill the machine, most of the poo goes on the liner that are flushable and u get booster pads for when your babies gets bigger and does large wee/poos. Poppers mean there are no pins to mess about with and they wash brilliantly. I'm far too lazy to pre-soak so they sit there till I have a full load and 9 times out of 10 they come out nice and clean with a low temp wash, then every so often I put them on a high temp wash and they come out gleaming white again. I find them really easy to use and would recommend them. My baby has never really had nappy rash except the sore bum when she has a new tooth coming and she knows when she has soiled herself and lets me know so she is hardly ever sat in a wet nappy. I'm no saint though we do use disposables on a night and when out all day but they are eco friendly and bio biodegradable, marginally more expensive than normal disposables I can justify this cost as a pack can last us 2 weeks.

Must Read

The secrete life of the unborn child-Dc Thomas Verny

Absolutely amazing when you consider this was published in the 70's. Way ahead of it's time and soo interesting.

The continuum concept- Jean Liedloff

Beautiful how we should endeavor to be as parents, makes you view "western civilisation" in a new light.

Why love matters ( can't remember name of author sorry)

Essential reading if a bit labour some, basically love and lavish attention on your babies and they grow in to beautiful happy adults.

They f*** you up Oliver James

Profound! Messed with my head and made me view my own childhood without the rose tinted specs.

Nappy dilemma

Just had a major dilemma Baby pooed in her last disposable nappy!!! I don't like her going to bed in her cloth nappies. I did have one disposable left but with no sticky tabs, they had been pulled of by a little tinker! So I have had to put parcel tape around the nappy top so it stays on. My poor baby ha ha.

4D Scan Baby Pictures

I cannot recommend 4D scans enough. We went to Middlesborough for ours and opted for the "Watch me grow" package so we went at 24 and 31 weeks. Was amazing watching your baby in their secret little world. Their personality seems evident even then. I could tell my baby was a cheeky little madam, she kept sticking her tongue out and sucking on her hands and feet. It really puts things in to perspective and gives you a chance to bond with your baby on a different level. To be able to watch them respond to your voice, your laugh or kick the spot were you tap your belly. Time you will never have again, well worth every single penny!!! And now my beautiful cheeky baby is here at times I miss my bump and that feeling of her inside of me and I can look at my pictures and watch my DVD and remember.

Baby Hammock

I love, love, love my baby hammock, they are absolutely fluffing fantastic. My little ba ba would not nap during the day for love nor money anywhere except on me. As much as I enjoyed this, the sink kept getting fuller and the pile of washing stinkier! I needed to occasionally get up off my lardy arse and do something. In her hammock she sleeps soundly sometimes for TWO WHOLE HOURS! When she stirs it rocks and the motion enables her to nod off again. Just wish I'd have got one sooner. Also they are not that expensive I got mine brand new off that auction site you know the one for about £35+P&P, total bargain! Now if only they had one for adults lol

Snuggle Nest

I purchased one of these as I thought it was a fab little invention so baby could sleep in bed with us but be safe when she was small. It zips up in to a handy carry case, so would be brilliant for traveling, staying over at relatives. The positioners keep baby in the correct sleeping position. As much as I loved this my baby didn't, but we had a bit of a traumatic birth and she would only settle on me. I did however use the positioners in her cot pram as she hated that too!

Making the most of the clothes you have

These buttons are fab, give you an extra month or so use of your trousers ect.....

Bikini clasps I cut my maternity bras and sewed these little fellas on to turn them in to feeding bras. Brilliant as your breasts change size so much and then when I went to get my proper feeding bras I got them in the correct size!!! Don't forget to get measured is vital you don't want vinegar tits!!!

Bra back extenders another fab little trick. You don't realise how much your back and ribcage expands through you pregnancy, so these let you wear your bras for a lot longer. All of these are available from fabric type haberdashery shops and are really cheap.

Baby safety feeder

This is one of the most fantastic little things I bought for my little bundle. It really helped her grip and she could eat safely. Brilliant for out and about in the pram when they start to kick off and when teething I would put flavoured ice in it or frozen fruit/veg. Love it!!! Just don't put banana in it is an absolute bugger to get clean again!!! A brilliant weaning tool.

I miss drawing!!!

Sleeping Marvin

My cat.

Spiders Web Belly Cast

My favorite belly cast. It looks like spiders made it with sparkly webbing. It shimmers all different colours when the light hits it, particularly on the sequins I have sewn on. The ribbon allows me to wear it, so I have the size of being pregnant but not the weight of it.

Belly Cast 28 weeks

Mod rock cast I made of my pregnant belly at 28 weeks. My bump was HUDGE!!! It popped out at around 12 weeks so there was no hiding under my jumper for long ha ha. I took the cast myself standing in the bath. I had forgotten to lather myself in Vaseline so when the time came to remove it ouch! You do not realise you have sooo many tiny baby hairs on your body. Still at least I didn't have to pay for a wax lol. I have it hanging on the wall now and gauge my post baby belly against it and I don't feel so fat ha ha. I love rubbing the belly when I walk past like my own good luck Buddha belly. I just wish I had taken a cast earlier on in my pregnancy so I had a whole set of belly's each one getting bigger and bigger.

Little felt toys I made for my friend, kind of crud, but was just working on an idea, so these were my test runs.

Ellies' feet 6 weeks old

My little girls feet. Six weeks old, bless. Seems like an age ago now! How time flies!!! But things like the casts capture a moment in time for you to revisit again and again. I love holding them in my hand, is hard to imagine she was every that tiny now she is standing and desperate to walk. I hold them against her feet now and already they are dwarfed by them. Visit my website for more details if you would like a cast of your little one.

Ellies' hands 6 weeks old

Little clenched fists. How cute.

Belly Cast 34 Weeks

My belly at 34 weeks. I was so big at this point I couldn't manage to do cast by myself so my beautiful man helped me. I have gold foiled this one and pasted on a picture of one of my 4D scans and some little copper metal butterflies. Am upset I trimmed the edges as now it looks like something that has been made rather than grown if that makes any sense?
